yo what is this aesthetic?
It’s called gen x soft club which is a subgenre of y2k cybercore. I mainly focused on the glassy corporate aspect of it tho.
what does cor mechanica mean?
“Mechanical heart” in latin but it’s incorrect and should actually be “cor mechanicum“ but “mechanica” sounds cooler so idc.
why did you make this website?
Two reasons:
1. I have zero experience in coding but I’ve always wanted to learn how to code html and make my own website because I just love customizing the heck out of everything. I got inspired after looking through cool neocities websites and I figured that the best way to learn how to code for me personally is really just starting something and learning along the way.
2. I've been very inspired by gen x soft club lately and I was surprised that there weren’t very many neocities websites with this aesthetic.
how did you make this website?
- We love w3 schools <3 <3 I went through the first few lessons just to get the basics down and felt like I was ready to start.
- I watched this video by Flickarity on making a website which helped me start and understand how to layout everything.
- Intense googling and searching through forums that are over a decade old.
- Inspect elementing various neocities websites and trying to figure out how people made things work.
- This is all in order btw.
- Also, I use visual studio code with the live preview extension to code this site.
